Short version: if you use the contact form, we get what you type into it and use it only to reply. No ads, no cookies. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn’t use cookies or follow you to other sites.
What this site collects
Very little. There’s no sign-up or account, and we don’t use tracking pixels, ad networks, chat widgets or social media buttons. We don’t set cookies. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit, which pages they view, what kind of device they use and which site sent them. It doesn’t use cookies or fingerprinting, and it doesn’t identify you or follow you to other sites. The fonts and images on the page come from this site itself. The contact form is the one part that doesn’t; it comes from Tally, and the section called “If you use the contact form” explains what that means.
Two small scripts run on this site. One only runs the logo animation and doesn’t send anything anywhere. The other is Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sends Cloudflare anonymous visit counts: the page viewed, the type of device and the site that sent you, not your name or anything that identifies you.
If you use the contact form
The contact form on the home page is provided by Tally (tally.so). If you use it, you send us your name, your email address and your message. You can also add your business name and a phone number, but you don’t have to. Please don’t put anything sensitive in the message.
Tally stores what you send and emails us a copy. We use it only to reply to you and, if you become a client, to do the work you asked for. We don’t sell it, rent it or add you to a mailing list.
Tally is a company based in Belgium, and its privacy policy says it stores data on servers in the European Union. When the form loads, your browser connects to Tally. In our own checks the form set no cookies, but it saves a small amount of data in your browser to run the form, and it sends technical error reports to a monitoring service. Tally’s privacy policy explains how it handles data: https://tally.so/help/privacy-policy
We don’t have an automatic deletion date. We keep your message for as long as we need it to answer you and to do any work that follows, and we’ll delete it if you ask. Tally keeps anything we delete in a trash for 90 days before it’s gone for good.
Our web host
This site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare handles basic technical details when your browser asks for a page, such as your IP address and browser type, so it can deliver the site and protect it from attacks. We don’t use that information to track you. Cloudflare’s own privacy policy covers how it handles that data.
If you email us
If you write to hello@trailsenddigital.com, we get your email address and whatever you put in your message. We use it only to answer you and, if you become a client, to do the work you asked for. We don’t sell it, rent it or add you to a mailing list. If you’d like us to delete your emails, just ask.
If you become a client
To build your site and look after your Google listing, we use the business details you send us, like your hours, address, phone and photos. Your domain and accounts stay in your name. We never ask for your passwords.
Children
This site isn’t aimed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. On child care sites we build, we never post a photo of a child without written parental consent.
Changes
If we ever add anything else that collects information, we’ll update this page first and change the date at the top.
